Assistance for Business Management and Growth

The UMD Center for Economic Development works with organizations of all sizes to help manage an existing operation or to grow it to the next level. Our experienced business consultants work directly with business owners and leaders along with an array of professional learning and development programs to build employee knowledge and skills.

Our internally developed tools allow us to analyze the financial stability of businesses and help determine how growth could impact financial performance. Our access to University and organizational partner databases provide in-depth information within specific industries for business benchmarks and comparisons.

Our business consultants have extensive industry experience backed by advanced degrees and professional certifications, giving you the confidence in making decisions concerning your business. Business consultants also guide the work of undergraduate research assistants who are trained to search for information on any topic where questions may exist.

All consulting meetings and shared information are confidential. Based on SBDC and SBA policies, we cannot discuss your project with anyone outside of our organization without your consent.

To become a client for no-charge business consulting sign up to have a consultant contact you. We will review your needs and match you with a consultant with relevant expertise.
